Compensation: $25-40/hr (negotiable)

 

Location: Seattle, WA. Employees must be able to come onsite daily.

What you'll do:

The Mechanic constructs, installs and repairs mechanical systems on yachts in various stage of construction. 
  • Fabricating and installing various mechanical systems including; hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, water systems, HVAC, plumbing, metal fabrication, steering systems, and many other mechanical systems.
  • Fabricating and installing technical spaces including engine room, cranes, elevators, etc. 
  • Installation of appliances and mechanical components 
  • Safe operation of a variety of equipment and handheld tools including powered, pneumatic, hydraulic, vibratory, and hand tools.
  • Utilizing construction drawings, specifications, and other material to construct and install parts
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area and ensure that all tools, materials, and flammable chemicals are stored properly
  • Other duties as assigned







What you need to succeed:

To succeed, you will be eager to grow and learn, have a great attitude, and be able to pay close attention to detail.
  • 3+ years as a mechanic, plumber, or pipefitter, working on various mechanical systems
  • Auto/diesel mechanics, HVAC, tubers, and hydraulic installers are all highly encouraged to apply.
  • Stand/walk for 8+ hours per day
  • Frequent use of stairs, ramps, ladders and stools
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Extended periods of overhead work 
  • Bend, kneel and crawl on a regular basis
  • Frequent and repetitive arm and hand motions, handling, grasping, etc
  • Frequent reaching below knees, knees to shoulders and above shoulders
  • Wear necessary personal protection equipment including respiratory protection equipment, safety glasses/goggles, rubber gloves, coveralls, hearing protection, fall protection, etc.
  • Clear vision (with or without corrective lenses)
  • Hearing as needed to recognize alarms

Eric first learned how to find top-quality candidates and conduct effective interviews while still in school in 2008. In all his jobs since, he used that knowledge to help the company hire. In 2018, Eric became a full-time recruiter, mainly working on roles in the industrial and skilled trades industries. Since then, he has hired candidates from all industry sectors and walks of life.

Eric joined Rainier Recruiting in 2021, working from his home in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon.
