Job Description

Controller / Full-Charge Bookkeeper (Manufacturing)

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is a high-impact role working directly with company ownership at a stable and growing manufacturing business. You’ll have full ownership of the accounting function, visibility into financial strategy, and the opportunity to improve systems and processes that directly affect business performance.

If you enjoy being hands-on, influencing decision-making, and operating as a true financial partner to leadership, this role offers that autonomy and responsibility.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee all day-to-day financial operations for a manufacturing organization. This position reports directly to ownership and plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, improving cost controls, and supporting strategic decisions.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring both transactional execution and higher-level financial insight.

  • Process weekly vendor payments

Financial Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver key financial reports including:
  • Balance sheet
  • Income statement
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Inventory reporting (WIP and finished goods)
  • Customer deposits and liabilities

Payroll & Benefits
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely benefit payments
  • Maintain compliance with payroll regulations

Cost Accounting & Process Improvement
  • Partner with leadership to enhance costing methodologies
  • Analyze and improve cost structures and operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to reduce overhead and improve margins

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in a full-charge bookkeeping or accounting role
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Strong experience with ERP systems and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred; certification is a plus)
  • Experience with online banking platforms and credit line management
  • Background in cost accounting, including system development or implementation
  • Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing payroll and employee benefits
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively with leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly organized
  • Comfortable working in a small-to-mid-sized business environment
  • Proactive problem solver who can improve processes, not just maintain them
  • Strong business partner mindset with the ability to translate numbers into insights
