Compensation and Benefits: $70,000 to $85,000 salary plus bonus

Location: Cullman, Alabama. This position is 100% onsite, with some travel requirements to different company locations.




Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs across multiple facility locations.
  • Develop, implement, and update safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to stormwater, process water, and air quality permits.
  • Maintain and manage the ISO 14001 EHS Management System across all sites.
  • Coordinate and document requirements for QS9000, TS16949, and other relevant EHS-related certifications.
  • Stay informed on state and federal EHS regulations and ensure facility adherence.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and engineers on process changes impacting EHS.
  • Manage and update the safety data sheet database.
  • Work with EHS service providers, identifying cost-effective solutions without compromising safety and quality.
  • Review and adjust facility evacuation plans as layouts evolve.
  • Maintain and enhance the contractor safety program.
  • Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.
  • Address and resolve safety concerns from inspections and incident reports.




Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead audit teams for annual internal audits related to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Conduct EHS audits on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Oversee an active EHS team, including coordinating meetings and inspections.
  • Manage a cross-functional health, safety, and environmental (HSE) team.
  • Provide annual RCRA training and EHS orientation for new employees.
  • Maintain and analyze emission inventory data and VOC air emissions reports.
  • Prepare required environmental compliance reports, including hazardous waste documentation, Tier II reports, and regulatory notifications.
  • Manage air emissions reporting, stormwater permits, and waste handling requirements.
  • Deliver hazardous materials transportation training.
  • Oversee hazardous waste management and ensure proper regulatory reporting.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or a related discipline, or at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.




Desired Skills and Attributes:
  • Professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable with public speaking.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to train employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and database management.
