Founding Recruiter

Location: New York City or Toronto (5 days in-office)

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 base + meaningful equity

The Role

We’re hiring our first in-house recruiter to build and own the hiring function from the ground up. You’ll partner directly with founders and senior leaders to design how we attract, evaluate, and close exceptional talent across the company.

The initial focus will be on engineering and product roles, with opportunities to support go-to-market and operations hiring as the team scales.

What You’ll Do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions, from sourcing through offer close
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, interview plans, and hiring priorities
  • Proactively source and engage top-tier, passive candidates using modern tools and creative outreach
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines while delivering an excellent, high-touch candidate experience
  • Track and improve recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline health, and offer acceptance rates
  • Continuously refine hiring processes as the company grows

What We’re Looking For
  • 4+ years of experience recruiting in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong background in technical recruiting (engineering, product)
  • Proven ability to source and close senior, passive candidates
  • Experience at fintech, B2B SaaS, AI, or early-stage startups is a plus
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building systems from scratch
  • Excellent communicator who builds trust with candidates and hiring managers alike
  • Experience using modern recruiting tools (e.g., ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter)
