Growth Marketing Manager

San Francisco, CA

Posted: 12/23/2025 Industry: Marketing Job Number: 3508127 Pay Rate: 100000/year - 150000/year

Job Description

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 base + meaningful equity

Work Model: In-office 3 days per week

Why Join

This is a rare opportunity to help modernize a critical, outdated industry that impacts millions of people every day. You’ll work alongside experienced, repeat founders and a close-knit team that values rigor, collaboration, and thoughtful execution.

As one of the first dedicated marketing hires, you’ll have real ownership from day one — shaping lifecycle strategy end-to-end and growing into a leadership role as the team scales. The environment is highly collaborative, fast-moving, and grounded in mutual respect.

The Role

We’re looking for a strategic and highly analytical Growth Marketing Manager to own lifecycle and retention initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch, using data to drive decisions, and creating personalized customer experiences that build long-term trust and engagement.

You’ll be responsible for designing, launching, and continuously improving lifecycle programs across email, SMS, in-app messaging, and related channels.

What You’ll Do
  • Own lifecycle marketing strategy across activation, engagement, retention, reactivation, and monetization
  • Build and optimize onboarding, education, nurture, upsell, and winback flows
  • Identify and map high-impact customer moments across the product and service experience
  • Lead experimentation across messaging, timing, segmentation, and channels
  • Use cohort, funnel, and LTV analysis to guide prioritization and optimization
  • Establish strong CRM foundations including data integrity, triggers, and event tracking
  • Ensure high standards for deliverability, QA, privacy, and regulated communications
  • Partner closely with product, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure messaging is accurate, empathetic, and consistent
  • Translate insights into recommendations that influence product and go-to-market strategy
  • Write clear, supportive lifecycle copy that simplifies complex concepts for customers
  • Build dashboards and regularly report on performance and learnings
  • Own and improve core metrics including activation, retention, conversion, repeat usage, and lifetime value

What We’re Looking For
  • 3–6 years of experience in a highly analytical lifecycle or retention marketing role
  • Experience in consumer-facing, design-led companies (e.g., B2C tech, digital health, fintech, e-commerce, marketplaces, beauty)
  • Strong track record of building and optimizing lifecycle programs
  • Comfort running experiments, A/B tests, and iterative optimizations
  • Technical fluency with lifecycle and CRM tools (e.g., Iterable, Braze, OneSignal, or similar)
  • Excellent written communication and ability to explain complex ideas clearly
  • Startup experience preferred, with an emphasis on ownership and impact
