Senior Human Resources Business Partner / HR Manager

Location: Greater Vancouver Area, BC (Onsite)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to serve as the lead HR partner for a dynamic manufacturing and operations-focused organization. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting both employees and leadership while driving employee relations, labor relations, talent acquisition, and overall HR strategy.

Depending on experience and qualifications, this role may be hired at either the Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager level.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong relationships across the organization, and serves as a trusted advisor to operational leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Labor Relations & Employee Relations
  • Provide guidance and expertise on labor relations matters within a unionized environment.
  • Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements.
  • Support grievance resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Partner with leaders on attendance management, performance improvement, and employee conduct matters.
  • Advise managers on employee relations issues while ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and support positive workplace relationships.
  • Manage accommodation requests, return-to-work programs, and related employee support initiatives.

Leadership Partnership & HR Advisory
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for site leadership and operational management teams.
  • Provide coaching and consultation on people-related decisions and organizational challenges.
  • Build credibility with employees and leaders through strong communication, judgment, and responsiveness.
  • Influence decision-making while balancing business needs with employee considerations.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for professional, technical, operational, and leadership positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and develop effective hiring strategies.
  • Support onboarding and integration of new employees.
  • Contribute to long-term workforce planning and talent pipeline development.

HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure HR practices comply with provincial and federal employment legislation.
  • Maintain and analyze HR metrics, workforce data, and reporting.
  • Support payroll-related processes and employee record management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.

Qualifications

Required Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong background in employee relations and labor relations.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with operational and business leaders.
  • Experience managing recruitment processes from sourcing through offer acceptance.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR compliance requirements.

Preferred Experience
  • Manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, transportation, logistics, or other operationally intensive environments.
  • Unionized workplace experience.
  • Experience with collective bargaining, grievance management, and workplace investigations.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to advance into an HR management role.

Compensation: CAD $90,000–$100,000 base salary (flexibility for highly qualified candidates)

Bonus: Annual performance-based incentive opportunity
