Rainier Recruiting has partnered with mid sized job shop that specializes in machining parts for a variety of industries as they seek to grow their company. Compensation: $30-40/hour + overtime pay as needed. Positions are 3-24 month contract-to-hire opportunities with high possibility to convert to FTE.

 

Location: This position is onsite in Everett, Washington.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Operate CNC lathe and milling machines proficiently.
  • Set up and utilize manual machining equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting measurements from micrometers, vernier calipers, and other gauges.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment as necessary.
  • Apply mathematical knowledge to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Lay out and mark metal stock to indicate cutting placements.
  • Secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
  • Independently set up and run various mills and lathes.
  • Monitor machine feed and speed during machining operations.
  • Inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure compliance with specifications.

 

Qualifications and Experience: 
  • Setup/ Prove out experience with multi axis live tooling lathes
  • Work well as a team as well as independently to setup machining through aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials
  • Proficient in setting up and operating all standard inspection equipment
  • Understands standard machining practices such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, etc.
  • Reads, understands and interprets engineering and manufacturing drawings. Strong working knowledge of GD&T
  • Working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions).
  • A high school diploma/GED or graduation from certified technical school, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • Basic math skills

Eric first learned how to find top-quality candidates and conduct effective interviews while still in school in 2008. In all his jobs since, he used that knowledge to help the company hire. In 2018, Eric became a full-time recruiter, mainly working on roles in the industrial and skilled trades industries. Since then, he has hired candidates from all industry sectors and walks of life.

Eric joined Rainier Recruiting in 2021, working from his home in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon. Outside work, Eric enjoys playing tabletop games and spending time with his wife and two boys. Eric is one of the few Rainier Recruiting employees with a cat rather than a dog. His cat, Pirate, enjoys sitting on the keyboard while Eric tries to write emails. Pirate is especially fond of the letter rrrr.
