Maintenance Lead Technician

Full-Time | On-Site | Tacoma, WA

A large Pacific Northwest manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Lead Technician to oversee maintenance operations within a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives troubleshooting complex industrial equipment, mentoring a small team, and keeping critical manufacturing systems running with minimal downtime.

This opportunity is ideal for a “player-coach” leader — someone who can step in technically at a high level while helping guide and prioritize the work of other technicians.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and support a small maintenance team while remaining deeply hands-on in daily operations
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced industrial manufacturing equipment and CNC machinery
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues across a wide variety of automated production equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and machine documentation
  • Assist with custom fabrication, machine modifications, and process improvements
  • Support electrical work including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and equipment operating at higher voltages
  • Work with pneumatic systems, dust collection systems, motors, sensors, and machine controls
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities across a large manufacturing operation
  • Partner closely with production leadership to keep operations running efficiently

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with CNC or automated production machinery
  • Experience with electrical systems, industrial controls, and machine diagnostics
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and technical schematics
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to fabricate or modify components when needed
  • Welding and machining experience highly preferred
  • Experience supporting large production facilities with multiple machine types
  • Leadership ability with a collaborative, lead-by-example mindset
  • Calm under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and ownership
