Multiple openings on multiple shifts immediately available.

 

Compensation: Up to $58/hour plus overtime (10 hours weekly is available) 11 paid holidays, multiple weeks PTO, and full healthcare benefits.

 

Location: Huntsville, AL. These positions are 100% onsite at a space rocket facilities with no possibility of remote or work-from-home.

 

Positions are 6-24 month contract-to-hire opportunities with high possibility to convert to FTE.

In this role, you will establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support Test and Flight ground systems. As needed, measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals, integrate quality system applications between engineering, project management, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues, and facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues with diverse teams, lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and corrective action.

In addition, you will perform reviews and approve fabrication build documents including work orders and nonconformance records. You will perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100, recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality, and provide quality assurance subject matter expertise to inspection, fabrication, and test. Periodically, you will interface with internal and external customers on quality related concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.

In this role you will report directly to the Quality Engineering Manager. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Quality Engineers, you will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of developing, testing, and launching Space systems to support Blue Origin’s Vision. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a B.S. in engineering
  • Quality assurance experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Material Review Board experience preferred




Desired:
  • Knowledge of subassembly and final assembly of aerospace hardware.
  • Knowledge of Weld and NDT practices
  • Precision Measurement Science fundamentals
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of GD&T.
  • Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • RCA fundamentals
  • Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment
  • Quality Management System audit experience
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
