Compensation: $23-37/hour + overtime pay as needed. Positions are full time, and multiple shift schedules are available. Anyone interested in night shift or 3rd shifts are highly encouraged to apply.







Location: This position is onsite in Yakima, Washington.

Overview

Perform a range of advanced, precision machining tasks independently, using CNC and manually controlled machinery to manufacture parts to exact specifications and tight tolerances.




Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machines, including lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, and gun drills, to produce aerospace components based on sketches or drawings.
  • Utilize a variety of machinist tools and precision measurement instruments to ensure compliance with design specifications and work order requirements.
  • Perform calculations related to workpiece dimensions, tooling, and machining.
  • Monitor and inspect quality according to manufacturing plans, quality standards, and engineering drawings.
  • Ensure part accuracy by adjusting machine settings as necessary.
  • Adhere to production schedules by following established processes and timelines.
  • Collaborate with support teams and leaders to address and resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols, supporting risk management initiatives, and keeping work areas tidy.
  • Contribute to team success through a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Detect and address issues with machine operations, such as worn or damaged tools, by adhering to machining best practices.
  • Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines, tooling, and parts, as well as routine machine inspections.
  • Actively participate in programs such as FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and Process Improvement.
  • Provide training for others on tasks within your expertise.




Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • At least 7 years of experience operating and setting up manual machining tools, OR
  • At least 5 years of experience with multi-axis CNC machine tools.

Proven expertise in:
  • Using precision measuring tools, gauges, and inspection devices.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, part drawings, and tolerancing, including GD&T.
  • Shop mathematics.
  • Operating CNC machine tool controls, G-code, and DNC systems.
  • Performing machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction practices is highly desirable.
  • Must comply with ITAR citizenship regulations.

Eric first learned how to find top-quality candidates and conduct effective interviews while still in school in 2008. In all his jobs since, he used that knowledge to help the company hire. In 2018, Eric became a full-time recruiter, mainly working on roles in the industrial and skilled trades industries. Since then, he has hired candidates from all industry sectors and walks of life.

Eric joined Rainier Recruiting in 2021, working from his home in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon. Outside work, Eric enjoys playing tabletop games and spending time with his wife and two boys. Eric is one of the few Rainier Recruiting employees with a cat rather than a dog.
