Job Description


This company is experiencing tremendous growth and is hiring for a results-oriented Purchasing Leader. The Senior Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in refining and overseeing procurement activities at both our Washington and Texas sites. This position demands a strategic leader adept in ERP systems, with a strong emphasis on team development to drive efficient and effective procurement operations.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership and Team Development:
  • Guide and mentor the purchasing teams in Tacoma and El Paso, nurturing a collaborative and high-achieving work environment.
  • Create and execute training programs to boost team expertise in procurement procedures and ERP systems.
  • Offer support and advice to team members to foster professional growth and operational excellence.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and performance assessment of purchasing staff.

ERP System Oversight:
  • Act as the primary ERP Systems Specialist for procurement activities, ensuring optimal use and enhancement of ERP systems.
  • Partner with IT and operations teams to integrate ERP solutions that streamline procurement workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Evaluate ERP data to inform strategic sourcing decisions and pinpoint areas for process improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to procurement staff on ERP system features and best practices.

Strategic Procurement Management:
  • Formulate and implement strategic procurement plans to achieve cost-effective sourcing and efficient supply chain management.
  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and build strong partnerships.
  • Monitor market dynamics and supplier performance to proactively resolve issues and refine procurement strategies.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of materials to meet production needs.

Operational Excellence:
  • Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and procurement metrics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage processes to boost procurement efficiency, lower costs, and enhance supplier performance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with broader business objectives.




REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, with significant focus on leadership and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing procurement teams.
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and their role in procurement functions.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a talent for using data to make decisions and improve processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across various locations.
